What parents can expect this year is class:
September Learn to follow directions; fitness; playing together; learning and improving our soccer skills; lead up soccer games; soccer games.
October Flag tag, flag football skills and games.
November Ball skills; catching, throwing, shooting, layups. Skills, drills, and games.
December Continue with basket ball for the upper grades; Color tag, scooters for the lower grades.
January Hockey skills, and drills. Hockey lead up games and games. Skiing!
February Continue with hockey games; color tag; parachute play.
March Personal Fitness activities: station work including: balancing, sit ups, push ups, jumping rope, agility ladder, tumbling, rope climbing. Fitness testing for the upper graders.
April Golf, paddle ball, kickball, and start track - running activities.
May Track, softball, and kickball.
GRADING
The Physical Education grade at Woods School is broken down into two sections. A specific set of three standards and a more general citizen grade made up of four more standards.

Comes to class prepared
The seven standards for the upper grades are graded on the scale:
(A) Excels = The student consistently extends the standards beyound expectations.
(B) Secure = The students consistently demonstrates proficiency in the standards.
(C) Developing = The student is approaching the standards.
(D) Needs Improvement = The student is having difficulty meeting the standards.
The standards for the lower grades are graded on the following scale:
4 Mastery = The student exceed the standards.
3 Proficient = The student is proficient in the standards.
2 Basic = The student has basic mastery of the standards.
1 Minimal = The student has minimal mastery of the standards.
